We ask the Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, to grant Clemency to the Elders in prison, some of whom have already served many years! Some of whom have requested clemency for years now.
Some people in prisons are frail, some are in ill health, due to the lack of medical care, and the Corona-crisis will hit them hardest.
Just think for a moment if many of us die in society because of COVID-19, let alone in prison, where people are packed and hygienic conditions are bad…
We call upon the governor to show clemency!
– For the Elders
– For the people with chronic illness such as diabetes, asthma, cancer, dementia, etc.
– For those who already spent decades in prison
– For those with a serious innocence claim who are powerless to hire attorneys and prove their evidence
– For the LWOP-community some of whom already served decades, even half a century!
– For those on death row
